Thanks Cimm, yeah there are lots of good options out there that aren't too pricey either for the Steady Cam idea I just ordered a nice cheap one similar to the second one of the link Cimm posted.

What camera do you have?

Steadycam: Indicator Magic Arm & Vest + Flycam 6000
Cinecity: http://thecinecity.com/tcc/product.php?productid=4&cat=243&page=1

Is this working for you Cimm? is it easy to balance? Does it replace your shoulder mount completley?

It is not something that can be mastered easily as it is quite heavy. I definitely need a bunch of practice with it before I put it to use in another film.

It doesn't replace the shoulder mount as they both have their place.

Update list with my new HD video + still camera and lens!!

Canon EOS 7D: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos7d/
Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8L USM: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0209/02092906canonef2470l.asp

I'll be getting some sweet gear soon to mount it and make it look more like a video camera so stay tuned.

7d, nice! I was going to buy one, but I got the Pentax K-7 instead which is pretty much the same thing only 4MP less and $1000 cheaper.

Does this mean Patrolling season 3 is going to be HD or are you sticking with the DVX as your main?

I was going to do that, but other than needing a shotgun mic I actually like going "barebones" with my DSLR. Makes run-and-gun style video way easier.

Yes, all future projects will be filmed in HD as I will be selling my DVX100 (interlaced standard def is so... 2000's).

The latest two projects 'Whore' and 'Afternow: Little Rocks' are both in HD.

I've updated the list with the older standard definition cameras that we used previous to the DVX100.
