I thought this was pretty hilarious. Viacom uploaded a video to its video website www.spike.com of a Creative Commons song written and sung by Jonathan Coulton. You have to sit through several advertisements before you watch the video and therefore viacom are making money off of this, thereby infringing the CC license - by law they owe Jonathan Coulton money because of this.

I wonder how much money he will get for this infringement, will it be in the order of thousands of dollars? I doubt it. Still, THEY MUST PAY UP! What unfurls regarding all of this will be an interesting proof-of-concept as to how corporations have the power to do whatever they want. Well, I guess we'll see.

YAY! Nice find Cofeebean!

Johnathon Coulton is kind of folks-y type singer-songwriter. I would LOVE to see this really get used by Google into its lawsuit with Viacom.
