Yugosaki, Halloween and Darin Khay are all out in Edmonton. Might want to talk to them, they could possibly hook you up with a job.

There are jobs here - but I warn you, they are going to be at the low end of the spectrum. Mostly service industry and some labour. Darin actually is having a very hard time finding a job, so he'll probably be shipping off back home soon so he can go back to school instead. It took longer for the economic shit to hit the fan here, and it didn't hit as hard, but it still stinks. Don't expect it to be easy to find a job unless you go to the bottom of the pile (I'm talking like, fast food and grocery clerks)
Halloween and I live in Edmonton on the north side, and Darin is here too for the time being. We're the only wogs I know of in Edmonton, but there are some in Calgary too I think. Give us a shout when you're in the area, we can help you find your way around, maybe introduce you into some groups you might be interested in (It always sucks to go somewhere new and not know anyone)

Nope, the nettwerked/hackcanada meets disbanded a few years back. I still speak to a lot of the guys on IRC.

It would be if there wasn't a freaking MOUNTAIN RANGE between here and there I always say the reason Edmonton exists is because people ran out of money/fuel on the way to Vancouver. It happened to my dad and a whole bunch of other people I know.

1- I pay $1000 for a 3 bedroom townhouse. I would say 2 or 3 bedroom anything averages between $900 and $1200. 2- In my townhouse I pay around $200-$300 /mo 3- Highly subjective, depends on eating habits. You could get away with like $20-$30 a week without too much trouble if you shop selectively. 4- around $10-$14 an hour. Tech gets paid a bit more but jobs are scarce in that sector. 5- not sure, haven't really looked. But from what I've seen, around $50-$100 for basic packages. 6- Cell phone runs me about $45 a mo, if you drive insurance and gas will add a few hundred.
