So what do you think about this? Useful? Useless? Could be improved? Ideas?

I think there will be times when that comes in really handy. I wouldn't mind setting one of those up and giving it a test run at my local coffee shop.

Due to recent changes in tech and stuff this is now around $50 to make. Apparently you can fit all of the piratebay's listings on it and have room to spare. They seem to be popping up all around the country at colleges and stuff.

I agree it is a time in this could become useful.

So you can set one up for under 50 bucks now which is a pretty doable price range. It might be worth setting one up and running it just for the experience. But the things I think could be useful to add on is some kind of basic forums or BBS system might be nice where you could leave a message. And if it could  have it do some kind of mesh networking similar to how the Byzantium projecthttp://wiki.hacdc.org/index.php/Byzantium is supposed to work.
