By 'our own systems" are you referring to a Wog economy?

Call it whatever you like. It's merely operating on your own terms.

Developing a system is really as simple as discovering the origins of real 'money' and putting those to practice.

Real money has to be:

1. A common means of exchange
2. Related to human labor
3. Scarce (somewhat optional)

More details on this thread: http://smf.rantradio.com/rantvideo-general/videos-on-the-federal-reserve/0/

Any easily exchangeable commodity would be sufficient to use as money - it could be coffee, rice, beans, gold, silver, ammunition, whatever. Food specifically of any kind is also a good idea.

Otherwise, people can use trade (direct exchange) if they want, but generally a common means (money) will always arise in the market.

The easiest way of starting this is to stop using FRNs or other fiat currency in your transactions with your friends and family. Don't ask for money, ask for trade in rice or some other commodity or hours of labor.

There are online ways of exchanging the ownership of gold electronically, that might be of interest to some people.

How many people here have businesses or a way to make businesses they know accept real money?

A good start would be checking the places that accept gold and silver. The Liberty Dollar should have a list of places in your locale that use it so that's one reference.

I am actually working on this to see if its feasible. I am not too sure I would want to be on the list for the LD website because of the problems they have had in the past with raids but I wouldn't mind accepting it if I had a shop, I just don't want to be on that radar. A window sticker and word of mouth would have to be enough.

I have talked to a couple of store owners around here and they said they would gladly accept alternate forms of money if there was 1. a market and 2. a way to convert it or pay bills with it. This means that the first and most important thing would be to have a local bank or exchange to get your town started.

I would also be willing to work with other people on getting something like this started, planning it out, or even just shooting the breeze about it. I think I will head over to NHfree. I think they have something like this actually in play.

Yes, it certainly does.

Anyone seen the price of gold and silver recently? Its down to $13.50ish for silver per ounce. I bought mine for $11 a while ago. I'm gonna stock up if I can find some.

Yeah, it looks like everyone is out of silver, gold, plat, etc. They were selling for higher than the trade value. I don't think this has happened before. I didn't even think it was possible.

I did find this though:

I have sold all of my gold, and am investing in Lead. Better ROI in the future I think.

@Enki: will you be going and trying to save all of the Nuke Dumps in the US with all of the solid Lead?

Or are you just trying to stay afloat with some falling stock options?

Um; floating quite well actually (just made a mint on AMEX:SRS). Not sure what you are asking about with the nuke dumps though.

Perhaps you misunderstood: Trading my gold ($$$) for lead (ammo).

Yeah, I misunderstood.  I thought you were speaking of lead like lead acid battery, a mineral or metal type..

So your trading gold for ammo, sounds like a wonderful solid plan.

I also hope you understood that I am being a little facetious Wink I don't actually own any firearms, although I am tempted to get a rifle to practice my shooting (been years since I shot a gun now).
