A new report on says that MSG is good for "all persons." I think the phrase "all persons" may actually be code.
BTW, My aunt will actually be hospitalized if she touches the stuff.
Not going to post a link.

My point is, why is this in the news section if he isn't going to put a link to the story? Looks like he just wanted to rag on Fox. If that's the case, it should really be in the off topic section. If he meant it as a news item and wanted us to discuss the story, he should have posted a link.

There is a large collection of reports showing that MSG is toxic and risky to consume. One has to spend 10 mins on google and see the slew of warning related sites that show up. The manufacturers claim that its naturally occuring (just like cyanide and riacin are naturally occuring). Best to avoid the stuff entirely if you ask me. Its the ultimate cheap and nasty flavourant that you put on nutrionally challenged food sources to make them edible. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to work out whats going on here. The wikipedia article is pretty lame. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monosodium_glutamate. It hardly does the stuff justice. A bit like saying that the "black death" is a general sickness that can harm you. Duh-oh. Here are some more alarming links http://curezone.com/art/read.asp?ID=18&db=12&C0=13http://www.truthinlabeling.org/humansatrisk.html (how it causes damage to neurons) http://www.foodandhealth.com/cpecourses/msg.phpBasically its evil stuff. If there is a devil, then he helped make the stuff. Seems harmless and screws you up slowly but very surely. Just like something truely evil would.

Actually, they aren't technically lying. Yes MSG will kill you, but you are not a 'person'
Let me state my reasoning
as defined in section 2 of the bills of exchange act of canada(I *THINK* i'd have to check again) A "person" is an artificial entity, basically constructed to create money, and attached to all humans at birth.
Now, since MSG causes health problems, and causes the human to get sick and go to the doctor, and possibly get medication, this helps out the 'person' alot, because this generates money.
So MSG does in fact, help all 'persons' *coughmakemoneycough*
Edit: while the act I cited may be for canada, i'm certain something similar exists stateside.

It was a TV story. Didn't feel like looking up the link and didn't want them to get the traffic.

Thats a tad one sided, shouldn't we be able to look at the story you are talking about for ourselves and make up our own minds what to make of the report? Even if it is mainstream news.

So should we start talking about how bad margerine is ?
And that its basically black in colour after it comes out of the giant boiling pots. The aluminium boiling pots. Then they bleach it and add colour, then add some flavourant so it resembles some sort of food. Then they lie to you and tell you that its better than butter since it was once a vegetable product. And not an animal product.
Its an amazing story.
