Ron Paul to End Presidential Campaign, Launches New Effort

Rep. Ron Paul's presidential campaign, which was an ideological crusade against big government and interventionist leanings in the Republican party, will officially end Thursday at a rally outside the Texas GOP's convention, ABC News has learned. The new phase of the revolution officially begins with a speech tonight in Houston.

Yeah, he was and he will probably still get a lot of votes because hundreds of thousands of people have said that they will write his name in no matter what.

I guess I kind of wrote him off. He comes across as whiny to a lot of people, which may be the fault of the way the media portrayed him in the debates, but seriously he doesn't hold a candle to any of the other candidates when it comes to tenacity and leverage. While he may be right, especially regarding economic policy (gold standard FTW),  fact is, he never did have a snowball's chance in hell of winning any primary or election, mainly because of his "chicken little" personality. The election is a sham anyway, and has been for years. I'm surprised he played that fools' game at all. It makes no difference. We all shall soon revere and march in the square for our great and wondrous dear leader, Clinton-Hil-Sung.

If I only watched the public news I wouldn't even know that he had lasted longer than all but the last two.

You would be amazed (or maybe not) at how many people don't even hear the message of ANY candidate. They base their vote, and by default, their freedom and lives on the charisma of a candidate and never hear the actual platform. I would be curious to see how far you could get if you had full publicity, were VERY charismatic, and promised to make all of the poor slaves.

I'll state that the party flappers or platform walkers or platforms of the major parties are not worth their grains of salt themselves.

When you have both parties vacillating back and forth for hundreds of years, do you think any thing ever gets done except continual parading around the world like the last three US presidents have done?

For my money, I'd love to see candidates actually "say and do" some thing than parading around and pandering to platforms and International interests instead of "real" US needs.

If that happened in my lifetime, i'd be dumb, jaw struck dumb.
