Okay for anyone that wishes to try this out I can supply, I almost have all the doses and the newest version of the program. (I have all the doses that Sean talked about)
Just tell me where you want me to upload and I will.

Okay from my own experiance of binaural beats and I-doser, I´m going to tell you that it works for me at least (and my girlfriend, is it a placebo I don´t know and I really don´t care.
I also know that some people are immune to binaural beats so it may not work for you, I should also say that it might not work the first time because your mind doesn´t really get it yet. (you need practice with it)

Anyone interested?

I use them. I got me SBaGen, because it works on Win and Mac and is free.
Then I got a whole bunch of i-Doser presets from isohunt.

These have had no effect on me. Why, I do not know. Maybe it is the placebo effect, maybe my brain chemistry is just different enough to nullify the effects. Maybe I just can;t hear as wide of spectrum of tones.

We need to do a test one day, use a bunch of recordings that sound like binaural sounds, and have 3 groups. one listening to nothing, one listening to real binaural sounds, and one listening to fake ones, see what happens.

My brain chemistry is a bit fucked up, so it has effect, albeit not the intended one.
THC, for example, make me totally sober, increases my ability to concentrate and increases my creativity (which was the only expected effect)

On the other hand, binaural beats can have profound and even alarming effects for some people.  I remember downloading a track and started listening to it.

Nothing extraordinary happened at first but then the beat seemed to get louder, not in volume but in the sense that it just took over.  The rest of my senses felt like they were overloading.  A beam of sunshine hit my skin and was painful.

At that point I whipped the headphones off... AND THE BEAT KEPT PLAYING!

Went to bed, woke up none the worse for the experience.

Now this was a track that I downloaded, I´ve never had a problem with sbagen or gnaural and I use them off and on experimentally.  I´ve never investigated whether someone mixed something other than binaural beats into the track but now that I think of it I should have a closer look at that puppy.

I tried these out the other night, using SBaGen, and the "OOB" preset. It was interesting for sure. I've had plenty of experience with Psychedelics and I can say it wasn't anywhere NEAR that level, but as a mediataion or concentration aid, these are pretty slick.
I tried it in a fairly noisy environment using my studio monitors and it didn't do too much. Then I tried it in a dark room on my iPod (My PC has lots of cooling fans and gets perceptibly loud at night) with some big ol' production headphones on. The first 20 minutes my mind felt clearer and started to wander and think about all kinds of stuff, and then without realizing it I  I was suddenly in a deep OOB meditative state (and this was simply lying down in a dark room, not even sitting seiza or using my usual breathing techniques).
The change in states was rapid, not unlike some of the hypnosis recordings I've used before. What I mean by this is that when I meditate I slowly get closer and closer to dissolving all sense of my physical body, I can tell when I'm almost there and about to "break through". With the binaural beats program, my mind was lost in thought, and then I was just suddenly "there", in a sort of meditative state.
For anyone looking for to get high, you're probably better off smoking some hash or eating mushrooms. If you're looking for an easy and relaxing way to attain meditative states, improve focus, or get a better night's sleep, binaural beats might be your thing.

I've tried some downloadable binaural beats. The odd thing is that I hear the specified beat to strt with, but after a while it seems to get slower and slower, like I'm hearing a resonance of it instead.

Requires headphones, so if you don't mind wandering 'round a party wearing headphones all night..

Thought whole point of binaural beats was that they're caused within the brain only when you hear a different frequency in each ear. Ergo, unless you're got your left and right speakers well separated, and folk are standing aligned with them, probably won't work very well.

I've got 4 speakers on my amp. It's just stereo. So one side of my room if left channel, and the other is right channel. If I'm in the middle of the room, I can get the effect. If I'm not, I don't.

http://www.themeditationpodcast.com/

Kind of new-agey but this podcast walks people through a few meditation techniques and plays binaural beats in the background so I thought I'd post it here.

Personally, I prefer good old "breath in, breath out, repeat, don't think about anything but your breath and if you do just come back to your breath". Works great.
