So I logged into SL today and tried to adjust my appearance once again to reflect my most current caricature.

And found that many of the features won't display properly for me.  It was cool until I started monkeying with it.  When I logged in, I was wearing my green BDU's photog vest (Jacket, adjusted) and green shirt (shirt, adjusted) and combat boots (Shoes, adjusted).

But then when I went to "put on a different color vest" -- it was as if my modifications weren't registering.  Suddenly, my jacket was long and baggy, and no amount of slider use would change it.  It is as if either my graphics card isn't registering the changes, or the changes aren't being sent.

Anybody familiar with SL, help a brotha out?

First, make sure your SL client is up to date.

Second, clear SL cache, to do this go to your preferences menu (ctrl + p)  go to the network tab and click the clear cache button. then close out of and reopen second life.

third, make sure you are in a stable sim. Archers is usually pretty stable, Morabulus (right next to archers) is also very stable.

on the main login page it usually has a message saying to upgrade if it is out of date.

Cleared cache.

Re-downloaded SL and installed.

Problem persists.

Maybe my vid cards are going bad??

Update:

Apparently there's a bit of a glitch in the texture redrawing.  Fenoe helped me out immensely by showing me how to get into the "advanced" settings and hitting Ctrl-Alt-R a BUNCH of times until it resolved.

What a pain.

Glad it worked out for you. It's amazing how unstable SL is, and yet we'll put up with it. Welcome to the future baby!
