KEWL!!

When zombies be a coming, that's where I'll be going!

Very cool site too... What is it with our fascination with hidden and underground places? I used to think it was just me but there are tons of Documentaries about it out there, so I figure its not just me.

NOTE:
For extra coolness, they broadcast radio from one of the tower thingies...thats just bad ass!

Red Sands Radio:

I like the concept, but the walkways would be problematic on the high seas.  As we can see, none have survived to present day.  The walkways would be a major weakness.

I'd like to put one out on a lake I owned, with the fort about 30-40 feet above the waterline, and something like this below the water:

If I'm gonna dream, I might as well dream big.  The lake would have to be relatively clear so that the underwater habitat would actually be a nice place to live.

Think of how quiet it would be, say, 30-40 feet down, with light BARELY filtering in through the water...

I disagree. Keep in mind that this fort has seen combat action during WWII, and has been shot up quite a bit, then left virtually unmaintained for 40 years. The fact they're even standing is a miracle. But yes, walkways would most likely be a poor way of connecting forts like that together. On the other hand, I would rather have something built underwater rather than on the surface since it would be impervious to high seas and storms.
