I noticed an old post pertaining to an intrest in NLP that included Social Engineering, two of my passions that I love to talk about for hours on end.

LINK TO OLD POST: http://smf.rantradio.com/rantaudio-general/interesting-talk-from-defon-about-nlp/0/

I first discovered NLP when getting into hypnosis when I found out that a fair amount of hypnotists run in my family and apparently had a talent for it.
NLP is not hard to explain at all. To me this analogy worked the best and hopefully it doesnt distort anything.

NLP is the martial art of communication just as a martial art the effective way of movement in combat, It is the way to effectively communicate and get the exact meaning you are trying to get across. It takes the both fine instances of the study of simply using certain words to the complexity of body language and voice tone.
It can also be used as an interpersonal form of therapy to which has its merit but only in certain areas.

I will not go to far into topics but any questions on anything NLP wise I would love to talk about.

After I learned about NLP I read on more books on the same type of subject and I give my list of book that have helped me on my path of further understanding and knoweldge.

Introducing NLP (Great book and an easy read, best place to start.)
http://www.amazon.com/Introducing-Neuro-Linguistic-Programming-Psychological-Understanding/dp/1855383446

Richard Bandlers and John Grinders - Structure of Magic (The first book on NLP)

Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion - Robert B. Cialdini (Good non-NLP based add-on)
http://www.amazon.com/Influence-Psychology-Persuasion-Business-Essentials/dp/006124189X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1222761746&sr=1-1

NOW for Social Engineering. A great man once convicted of computer crimes wrote a book called The Art of Deception. This was considered the first written platform of true social engineering. Social Engineering is a simple as it sounds engineering the social situation to get what you need or want. Coming out of a need from phone phreakers to convince the people on the other line to give them sensitive information and passwords it developed into an awesome attachment to anyone interested in NLP.

I will add some videos pertaining to Social engineering in a bit but here is a link to his book and wiki.

Please any comments and discussion welcome. Just a reminder I am not an expert on NLP or Social Engineering though they are some of my passions both of them contain deception  Wink and people always saying they know more or better. A lot of the studies in both areas are opinion orientated and person oriented.

As always nothing is certain, there is always the non-zero chance.
