I remember reading about this case at one point.

I don't have any sound at work so I can't hear what they are saying but I will assume that it is the old story of there being no law that says you have to pay income tax. I have never seen the law but that is not really the point. The law doesn't exist and nobody has been able to find it but, they are going to enforce it one way or another. You have three choices when it comes right down to it:
1. Stand up to them and get run over by the machine. (agitator)
2. Pay it and take it up the ass. (mole)
3. Use Thai Chi and find a way to deflect their attention away from you. (ghost)

Or, you can decide not to pay it, and instead of standing up and 'fighting the machine" you can peacefully use deep knowledge of how the system actually works to get them to just leave you alone

(and yes, I know people who this actually works for)

Don't FIGHT the system, or you will be horribly destroyed, either first financially, then legally, and if you are still a problem, physically. Use knowledge, in this system there are two kinds of power, money and knowledge. And alot of knowledge wins over alot of money very often.

Yea there are many arguments out there that the tax is unconstitutional, or doesn't apply to most Americans, or is voluntary, but the bottom line is that study those if you want to, but taxation is theft and by paying it you are a slave. Maybe a small part, but slave nonetheless. It's a moral argument. It's not a "maybe if they can show me the law I'll pay.." argument.

Juries can nullify bad laws they are opposed to. See FIJA.

But do what you think is right. It's a matter of risk avoidance.

Yeah, thats what I meant by using Thai Chi to deflect attention.

The agitator, ghost, and mole come from a book "The Freedom Outlaws Handbook." Check it out.

I don't think "fighting the system", at least upfront, is a good strategy. Going around seems more prudent. Be like water.

Any ideas on becoming water in that situation? The closest thing I can think of is selling goods on an auction site or personal website using paypal.

Fighting doesn't necessarily mean throwing metaphorical punches, it can be, and often is, quite a bit more subtle than that.

Yeah, don't take anything I say at the most basic level. If you are going to fight, and I wish more people knew how, I would highly recommend learning how to fight. This includes reading legal dictionaries and doing much research. Lawyers have a lot of years behind them, you should get some too if you plan to do pugilism in the public arena.

The best way to avoid being hit is to not be there when it is thrown. I would recommend this before the fight ever starts. You do everything you can to make sure you don't end up in the fight and if you do, use all of your weapons. Some martial arts have forms of counterstikes that can also be employed as well.

Lawyer = warrior
law = war
word = sword
etc.
