It was a bit of a trick at first to kick zombie butt with a pen knife, but I got the hang of it. The technique is called "reverse tanking"...you just have to back up a little bit each time you stab the zombie.

Alright, I'm in as Great Scott.

I'm a Lvl 2 Doctor (Fitting, eh?)

I've got about 100 bucks (learned the hard way that the zombies loot you when you die...DOH!)

And I need something other than this cruddy penknife.  Preferably something with a high crit potential.

Also, how do I heal MYSELF?  And I haven't found any food yet, either.  What is UP with that?

Help a brotha out, yo.

Enloops NEWB GUIDE:

1. THE STORE. To get to the store, go to the FORUMS and click on the selling thread (not buying) and open the first topic. It will have a link to the website http://deadfrontier.niocode.com/ (the Dead Frontier MEGA MALL) With the starting $100 you should be able to buy a melee weapon, possibly even a gun.

2. COMBAT. Holding down the left mouse button (LMB) will repeat attack. A slow back up will keep you out of attack range.

3. SPECIAL EVENTS. There are times (i believe twice a day) when the zombie make a run on the base. Three people will be allowed to defend each side of the compound. A ranged weapon is advised (if not required.) Hold out long enough and you get a butt load of exp, no loot tho.

4. LOOTING. You can loot corpses by holding down F for a few seconds. A y/n box will pop up and you have to click yes or no before you can fight off the impending zombies. Good to know. Each time the screen loads, you can loot the corpses again.

5. BUILDINGS. The buildings have special guys in them. Glowing green or red. There are also more places to search for loot. There is not much room to move around so the chainsaw is probably the best weapon.

6. STATS. You get 5 points to allocate to physical stats and 5 points for weapon skills. Everyone starts out with melee but if you can get the weapon you want early, I would recommend putting all your points into 1 weapon category.

7. SKILLS. Each class gets a skill. Cooks can make food. Scientists create medical treatments. Engineers repair stuff. Docs heal people for money. Farmers grow high quality food. The way this works is that you have to be over 25% health and 25% hunger to get paid. As far as I can tell it turns on automatically. You can buy these skills in the MEGA MALL but they wont appear unless you meet the requirements.

8. MISSIONS. (Not yet functional?) You can acquire missions by visiting the Notice Board from the main map screen. Here you will see a list of missions on offer and the price they are paying. As you level up you will be able to choose harder missions. Once a mission is selected you should go the Inner-City ASAP and begin, since there is usually a time limit. If you are successful you will receive a cash reward to your bank account, and an experience bonus. You can only take one mission at a time.

If you see me in game I will give you weapons and money if you need them. Just let me know.

Nice guide! Smiley

Don't forget that when playing "single" player you can pause the game, but you can't on multiplayer. It won't even pause on MP if you're looting or looking at the map, so watch out!

There is also a glitch that will sometimes allow you to press "I" for inventory in situations where you shouldn't be able to. You will log out of the game. When you log back in you will go to the same location but all the zombies will be gone.

Another useful glitch...

Always level yourself up in buildings.  Some buildings (like that multistory one I showed you enloop) glitch when you die in them, bringing you back to life in the same spot with all your XP and cash intact.  leaving you with the opportunity to bug out of a serious situation without losing your hard earned XP and cash.

Also, it should be noted that if you come across a green zombie, the next few screens will be "frenzied" with fast moving zombies.  This makes bugging out of buildings with your health at critical difficult.

If you come across a green zombie in a place you normally wouldn't, like the first intersection, then you should probably get back to the outpost ASAP because the outpost is under attack.  The last three outpost attacks in a row I ran into a green zombie close to the main gate.

Scott, have you tried going into your inventory and using the first aid items you find?  Thats how you heal others is they hire you and use their own first aid items.  You probably need to level more before you can use most items though.

We should all post links to our profiles in this thread, so we can do business with wogs first, and try to help each other out.

Under no circumstances should you go into the wastes with money in your pocket. Take my advice, $2000 is a lot to lose because you weren't paying attention. Cry

SKILLS: you should have two weapon skills, a ranged one and a melee one. Don't put points into a skill that you don't want for the long haul because you can't change them later.

I just found a skorpion SMG if anyone wants it look me up in game.
