I wasn't sure exactly why such things as aspartame were dangerous, but I'm all the wiser now. Video #5, I think, was the most scary. You can also find the ebook on Mininova, after all he does say to pass the book on to other people.

I wouldn't say 'all' genetically modified foods.

Ever.

I'll check out these videos sometime. But with the addition of some 'franken foods' crap i saw on the playlist... makes me not want to watch it anyway.

Lets say you make a virus which makes corn grow 13 ears per plant instead of the average 3-5. How is this bad?

Higher crop yield per acre is... what exactly? The devil's own work?

This is the kind of crap the 'franken foods' people spout at you. (I know, I've questioned them.)

Another thought occured to me while pondering this.

What constitutes 'genetically modified'?

I'd like some of your ideas on this in order to get some conversation going.

He actually explains why genetically modified food is bad in detail. It's the process in which they "inject" the wanted genetic code into the existing DNA to produce the desired affect. It can cause random mutations in the existing DNA, which sometimes can inhibit extraordinary protein release, which can sometimes cause the process for such things like cancer to evolve in the body.

There are other explainations that he does give to support his argument though, I personally thought the videos had a lot of merit, although I'll have to get more information to make a better informed decision.

GMO's are bad.  Plain and simple from the broad perspective.  Some are not horrible, but they should be avoided.  One reason they are bad involves not the crop, but the company holding it's patent.  Yep, GMO's are not natural, thus they are patented, and companies like Monsanto get to control not only the price, but the location of fields that grow the crops, and the actual crops that are grown.  Family farmers in India have lost vast amounts of money, as well as their health by trying to grow Monsanto owned cotton(no I don't remember my sources off hand, but I'll look.)

Just my opinion, but GMO's should be avoided as far as consumption goes, by humans or animals.  If you want to make things like clothing or fuel, go for it, just don't eat any of it.

P.S. Haven't watched it yet, just going off of previous research.
