Yep. I certainly wouldn't want the organization in charge of dealing with the aftermath of disasters to have some way to dispose of waste or bodies in a sanitary manner. I know I'd sleep much better at night knowing that in the event of some sort of massive-casualty situation that the bodies are going to be piling up in the streets or, at best, be put in a mass grave, maybe with some plastic sheeting down to (fingers crossed) keep icky stuff from seeping into the ground water. But actual coffins would just be creepy.
But yeah, this is totally a page out of my plan for world domination. Once I get to the point where I'm going to take over the country and start putting my opponents in "camps," I'm going to go ahead and put the coffins for the mass executions right out by the side of the road and let people walk right up and take pictures of them. I figure it'll be good to let 'em know who's boss, plus where on earth would a powerful and shady government put their coffins? It's not like they have special places with armed guards and fences with hangars and warehouses to hide things in. Nope, out by the road is just fine.
Think about it. If FEMA hid these coffins anywhere BUT plain site, most people would wonder what they are hiding. If they put them in plain site, they could just say they are preparing for future natural disasters and most people would buy into it without any proof.
Same with "camps", if you hide them, people will wonder what's going on more so than if they are in plain sight. While in plain sight they can hide them as any number of things and the public wouldn't even consider our government would want to put anyone in camps. No that would be too much like what Hitler did. Our government couldn't possibly do something like that to it's own people.... but what about "terrorists"?
I did think about it. Hence the rejection and the sarcasm. But I'll try to look at it from a more conspiracy-friendly point of view.
So, the fact that they are in plain sight makes them secret, but an even more devious secret than if they were being stored unseen somewhere. Having them in plain sight is much more stealthy than transporting them, say, in semi trucks to military bases to be stored in hangers away from prying eyes. That would arouse much more suspicion since the cargo manifests of trucks going to and from government facilities and of what's being stored in hangars is in fact common knowledge.
And it's wrong to buy into it when an organization that manages recovery after disasters says that they're doing something to prepare to manage the recovery after a disaster. We should be skeptical and ask them to prove it...somehow.
And if we don't see something like secret death camps, naturally the assumption should not be that they don't exist, but that they are hidden somewhere. So, the natural thing to do is to put them in plain sight. I'll bet there's one right down my street that I drive by every day and don't notice, stupid sheeple that I am.
Oh, and any day now the government is going to start rounding up "terrorists" and put them into said secret-yet-not-hidden camps and eventually into the secret-yet-not-hidden plastic coffins, just like Bush was going to do after 9/11. And again after he was elected a second time. And again when he suspends the election and declares himself President-for-life, or uses voter fraud to elect McCain to continue his mad tyrannical quest of mayhem and destruction that has turned our world into a dystopia.
Sorry, got swept up in the momentum there.
I did the conspiracy theorist thing for awhile. It was fun, but it got tiring.
