Awesome stuff, as always.  Totally enjoyed listening to all the eps, but ep 4 was BADASS!!  Don't want to spoil it, but the medical stuff was making me shiver and the ending had my adrenaline pumping.  Vyraes, are you going to do any more eps?  There wasn't much of a cliff hanger or much to indicate that another ep would follow, just curious.

There will be more, I'm working on episode 5 as we speak (mind you it's still in the rough-draft phase) and there may be a collaboration with Ranger 6 in the works.

*waves* That would be me. The idea's not gotten much past fragments of dialogue and a few odd notes on my end, just so's people know.

I am working opn an introductory episode, though.

(On a side note, Vyraes, I'm trying to get GoldWave to make my voice sound, well, semi-synthesized - trying to give it an electronic buzz, like it's being processed through a recon helmet. Can you give me any pointers on that?)

I used to use goldwave a lot, but it's a pain in the ass sometimes and there are some effects that I can get out of Audacity better than goldwave.

There are a couple tricks you can do with Audacity to get that effect, for example:
-Amplify the sound so that it clips a tremendous amount, then de-amplify it by the same amount and throw on a high-pass filter in the 5000 hz range.
-Open up your equalizer and set it as:
60hz: -24
150hz: -24
400hz: -12
1000hz: +12
2400hz: +12
6000hz: +6
15khz: -12
(play around with it as desired)
-or you can download and install iZotope Vinyl, which I mentioned in my reply to your message on livejournal.

Hmm thanks man, I was looking for something like iZotope Vinyl for my Afternow story.

Two things:
Just wondering how you are doing with ep 5 vyraes? I don't want to rush you or piss you off, but just wondering if you're still working or if RL has slowed you down?
I'm not trying to hold you to anything, but how many episodes are you plotting? or are you taking it as it comes?

Second, i motion that we ask sean and cimm to add the storm to the listen section of theafternow.com: I know it's not sean's work, but if he isn't gonna work on the project much more, then I respectfully feel that he should not close it off so much, as long as we don't do anything that would encroach on his storylines. after all, WHC is not canon, and features there (even though the reasons why it was dropped were beyond me - especially with an ending like that).
In fact, other than passing mentions of any characters/actions already wrote in, I still feel we can develop and add to the world, using only what SK has invented as canon already. Of course, what you've done is great so far, and I really hope it continues.

Final Note: Watched 28 days later, finally found where you got the music for ep2 from. I actually think you used it better Cheesy

As you can probably tell by the lateness of my reply, yeah meatspace is dragging me down. Thanks to the holidays rolling in quick, I've been literally running around like a mad-man trying to get everything done that needs to be done. Since I've commited myself to giving you guys a quality project I've taken some time to sit back and re-examine The Storm and try to innovate the Afternow world with new and exciting stuff. I actually feel really really bad about taking so long on this next episode, but I want to make sure I don't fuck it up and make some garbage.
I won't go into details about my personal life, but it's become a bit crowded where I live and that's having an effect on the writing process. Not that I don't like the new company, it's just a bit distracting.
To be honest when I started this project I wasn't even sure it would get off the ground, for god's sakes I wrote the first episode when I was bored at work, but with the response I've gotten would make it impossible for me to stop now (not to put the onus on you guys) thus, I'm setting an arbitrary ETA for the end of this month for episode 5.
To answer your question, honestly, I have no idea how many episodes I'm going to make, or even how many seasons. 12 episodes per season is the general rule, so I'll put out 12 before I contemplate season 2.

Actually, Cimm has already mentioned he'd like to add the new fan-stuff to the afternow site, but I'm sure shooting season 3 of patrolling and all the other work he puts into this site/community weigh him down. I think it would be greedy to assume he'll throw this up on the site immediately.

Anyhow, thanks for the post ghostdog!

no problem vyraes. Just don't want another good series of TFTA to die off just when it gets good.

I'm not good at writing stories or anything, but I'm good at playing with ideas or dropping little tweaks in here or there. PM if there's anything I can do to help, or if you just need someone to bitch to. If I can help, I will.

Just want to say that I was incredibly surprised by how good this fan series is. Hell, parts of it I like better than the original Afternow...so yeah I'm definitely waiting anxiously for Episode 5.

Thanks for doing what you do and keep up the great work.
