My DVDs have arrived yay! Thanks Cimm!

Hey Kev, did you get stung for VAT etc by customs?

I did! Bastards!

Today the DVDs finally get here, sort of. The postie put a note in with the rest of the mail to say that they wouldn't be released to me until "charges" totalling £11.33 were paid.

So I make the 8 mile round trip to the main local post office and pay up. £3.33 VAT and £8.00 "Royal Mail International Handling Fee".

This is the 4th time I've been stung by fucking HM Customs for stuff bought from abroad. And it's not as if I'm "importing" stuff worth mega bucks. A few DVDs here, a few CDs there. And one time some replacement parts for my sampler and I had to pay more in import duty and VAT then the parts and shipping cost me.

No, came through fine. Sitting on the stairs when I got home from work one night. Customs are bastards. Seems very arbitrary what they charge, then there are the fees. Be glad Parcelfarce didn't get hold of it, £13.50 they charge for clearing customs, bastards.

And which charges, import duty, vat, "other" they stick you with is a bit random too.

On a $40CAD order having to spend the equivalent of a further $20 that doesn't benefit anyone pisses me off.

Taxation = theft, and Customs are thieving bastards. along with the rest of the government.

Mine arrived a few minutes ago.

Now if I didn't have exams to prepare for at the minute, I'd be watching them...

Maybe the videos will help you with your exam! You never know what the bonus features may contain!

No, seriously, study for your exams first.

Got my discs a few days back, great speedy service! I'm in the UK and it was less than a week getting here.
Spent 2 whole days watching the episodes and all the extras, plus the commentaries. Thoroughly entertained and educated  :)
