@Misanthropic_Gods

Have you thought of using a testdisk program or some other recovery software to get that back? Sucks having to lose valuable data like that.

the case was dented and it started making weird noises and not recognizing any of the data. I opened it up and banged the dent out but it didnt do much
I havent tried anything else...I dont have an external enclosure or anything I would LOVE to get my data back

Is the list at the beginning of the thread current?
I'm interested in helping with the transcription process, but I noticed some episodes claimed by members in the thread listed as unclaimed in the initial post and I wouldn't want to duplicate efforts.

How did the case get dented? When you had the HDD open, did you notice any scratches on the disc itself? You may have just a jammed read head... If you don't see any scratches on the disc, try holding the HDD a couple feet above a phone book, and then drop it onto the phone book so that it lands flat. It might jar it loose and get your HDD limping for long enough to get some of your data off of it.

I update the list in the initial post as people volunteer and drop off. You can take anything listed as unclaimed and let me know so I can update it.

I dont know if you guys are still running this, but I'm gonna start transcribing rachel's mutt tonight. I've got nothing but time out here in the desert, so any that need done, I'll work on.
I'm still hoping that one day I'll hear season three, but this'll have to do for now.

We're definitely still running this, thanks so much for helping out! I've marked down your name for that episode. :-)

Most of the WitchHunter Chronicles are transcribed in the Wog Manual.  Any omissions are noted in the TIMECODES for each episode transcribed.  The Wog Manual, pgs. 36-80. Episodes XVIII - XXII

Ah, the wonders of generator power in Afghanistan. I'm waiting on a new power supply to arrive so I can finish transcribing rachel's mutt and start work on any others that are open. With any luck it will be here around the first. I'm about half way through getting the text down. After that, I'll add the time codes and it'll be sent off.

Let me apologize for the ridiculous delay in getting the transcript for Rachel's Mutt completed. The issues have turned out to be insurmountable in getting my aging MacBook Pro up and running. The final straw was a minor power surge that seems to have cooked the logic board. I've managed to recover the text file, and will be continuing work on it via a work computer as time and access allows. I will finish this thing if it kills me and my kit and then I'll work on the next one that is incomplete.
Again, sorry for the delays.

Excellent, I've marked you down for those episodes. This project is gearing up again and will need to be completed in about a month or so. Thanks for helping out and if you finish the transcripts you'll get credit in the Afternow: Megapack when the book comes out!!

Hey just curious I am currently listening to the episodes and typing as I listen and am doing such at half speed.  Do you have a preference of how things should be typed up where for instance Sean starts one word but quickly shifts over to another without finishing the first word.  Also how would you prefer things like laughing or a cough into the transcript.

Well shit, I need to stop procrastinating and get back to working on this, I have a good portion of it transcribed again, I just need to finish it up

Yes, it's easiest to transcribe while at half speed. These are a word for word transcription so type every half or even portion of words that Sean says. I've never though about the laughing and coughing and don't know if that's standard. I don't think any of the other transcripts have it in it so just leave it out, otherwise it leads to transcriptions of the sounds in the background etc..
